Creating a Task List

One of the unavoidable outcomes of planning and goal setting is that eventually it devolves into work! This is where we are going to figure out exactly what has to be done, how and when it needs to get done and how we will know if it gets done.

Creating a Task List

  1. Take one goal at a time and picturing the desired outcome, work backwards from the outcome describing all the things that will need to be done to meet that goal. This will include things such as budget, manpower, resources, time, etc.
  2. Take the list of tasks created in Step 1 and arrange the items in the order that they need to be done. Remember, some items may be able to be done in parallel with other items.
  3. Take time line / task list created in Step 2 and run it forward making sure that every task is described and in the order it needs to be done
  4. Assign a person or persons to each task on the task list.
